Yesterday I finally decided what to get my husband for his birthday today. I drove to the store and decided to take a cart in from TJ MAX/Home Goods to set my purse on as I browse since I would be going there next. As I entered a gentleman who seemed to be the manager yelled quite rudely that the I can't shop with the cart. I really was disinclined to go to another store since I was already there so I began shopping. It seems as if they have had experience with someone shoplifting using a cart in some way because I developed a very obvious and indiscreet tail. She never once approached to ask whether I needed help, (after all, I really must have been up to no good). I found two pairs of sneakers I thought my husband would like and proceeded to the cash register being manned by the same smartly dressed "gentleman" who had been so rude in his communication with me earlier. I placed the shoes on the counter, he looked at me with surprise and asked whether I wanted to purchase the shoes. I was done taking the high road so I told him in a sarcastic manner that is why I brought them to the cashier. He looked taken aback.....not quite sure why at this point but replied with a fake, nervous smile, " I thought you needed socks". No you did not think that, you thought I was there to steal your merchandise and cannot believe I actually am buying two of your more expensive shoes. I wish I could find another reason for why I was treated differently to the other shoppers who had no tail, we're not addressed rudely and we're not asked at the cashier if they wanted to purchase the items they brought to the cash register because I hate attributing every slight to race and make a conscious effort not to do so. I should not have been lazy and taken my money elsewhere but still this whole assessing of one's character and financial fortune based on skin color gets old. Never spending my money there again.

Good for sneakers and boots, not so good if you need dress shoes or wear a larger size and/or have wide feet.

Only had wide sizes

Friendly staff, large selection for everyone

Carol Bryan, you had no right to bring the cart from ANOTHER STORE in. Buy yourself a little cart. Home Goods and other stores in that center want THEIR CARTS FOR CUSTOMERS IN THEIR STORE.
